ESRB Covers Up Racy Dead or Alive Cover

Tecmo has made a underage alteration to the North American enshroud of Precise operating theatre Live: Dimensions after the ESRB decided that Kasumi kicks a little too up – and shows a little too much thigh.

Equally you might recall, Deep Silver proclaimed a couple of days ago that it had "tweaked" the Dead Island logo for the game's release in Second Earl of Guilford America, turning the "I" in "Island" from a silhouette of a remains swinging from a tree to a shambling zombie. The ESRB said in a affirmation that while the game itself remains untouched, the box art violates industry guidelines on advertizement and marketing materials. Apparently the living cold are okay, but the dead cold cross a telephone line of some class.

In any event, IT's not the only upcoming game that's run fouled of the watchful eye of the ESRB. Dead operating room Cognizant: Dimensions features the lovely Kasumi kickin' high on the cover and showing off a less fleck of inner second joint in the process. But IT's too often skin for the ESRB, which led Tecmo to make a very pocket-size change to the cover; so minor, in fact, that if you weren't looking at for it you'd plausibly never notice.

Which leads to the obvious question of, why bother? Was the original cover truly so offensive that it couldn't go proscribed as-is, and does the edited cover really change things up enough to fulfil any pregnant shortcoming? I'm all for age-appropriate gaming merely this seems almost niggling.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions comes call at North America happening May 25, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
